Luma Design is a software design and development practice. Alongside brand and creative work, we build functional tools — applications that automate repetitive creative tasks, utilities that solve specific technical problems, and consumer apps built end-to-end. Below are a few of our active projects.
Luma Design is the studio of Sam Buehner, a graphic designer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Across years of client work — for businesses large and small — the goal has stayed the same: elevated, considered design that strengthens how a brand shows up in the world.
That practice now extends into software. Working with AI as a development partner, Luma Design builds the tools behind the work — automating repetitive creative tasks, solving specific technical problems, and shipping complete consumer apps end to end. The same design instinct, applied to code.
Each project started as a real problem in a real workflow. Here's what we built and what changed as a result.
